Decorative concrete floors are very customizable in terms of colors, patterns, and textures. In addition, they are easy to maintain, extremely durable, stain resistant and waterproof. They are also non-porous, so they do not hold odors from pets or that "musty" smell; nor do they hold allergens such as dust or mold spores.
Most homeowners take pride in their homes appearance, so a normal mopping is typical, possibly a quick dust mopping in between mopping.
Thickness depends upon the look being created. Our typical installation is a little less than a 1/4" thick, so doors and other floors are usually not a problem. A couple of our finishes, such as stamped concrete require a thicker application which is typically 1/4" thick.
The concrete is made up in traditional 5 gallon buckets, and carried to the area where the work is being performed.
Although every floor and circumstance is different, the floor can usually be repaired relatively easily.

Is this a good floor for pets?
This is a great floor for pets. First, the floor is non-porous so pet dander can't get into the flooring. Second, accidents are easy to clean up and won't affect the floor if cleaned in a timely matter.

What happens if my floor gets flooded?
Nothing happens to the floor! If your floor gets flooded after the installation process, you will clean up the area they way you would after any flood, then you would mop the floor clean and apply a coat or two of moppable floor wax.
Since the floor is non-porous there will be no lingering odors.
